ID help
« on: December 02, 2010, 05:50:45 PM »
Hi everyone, I've recently bought this paperweight, it has polished base and two words etched something like "VERRINS VROLU/UROLU". Does anybody know this maker ?  Many thanks, Marc

Hi Marc

The simple answer is 'no' in my case, but I am pretty sure it says 'Verrerie' (which is French for glass works) and probably 'Vrola' - a known surname. I guess a small studio somewhere.

Rose, I had quickly come back in to ignore what I wrote. After I really looked, the sig looked more like Verrin or something along that line. I wanted to back away from the Venini line of thinking, but you caught me. The pwt doesn't look like Venini to me.
