Sue, that is one gorgeous vase!   I don't think mine is from the same stable - the quality isn't as good on mine, but it does demonstrate what I was trying to describe re the resist / reactive layer thingie nicely. Thank you!  :kissy:.

John, I agree they do look modern rather than older, but the base is polished flat and has some age wear to it so I'm thinking not terribly recent? (20th rather than 21st century?)

I'm positive the same shop (Lynne's) had a beigey pinky piece too, but I think it must have sold. It's effects looked even more like your piece than the one in that link does.

I think Heron glass did a similar thing too - but yellow doesn't fit with them, does it?
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Having handled the bowl today, I was no wiser, but Heron popped into my mind when we got home and before I read Sue's answer.

After getting this HERON info from you folks, i did some googling around.  I did find some *Oil-Spot iridescent Yellow samples* here:

http://bootyliciousbargains.co.uk/british.aspx

<....Scroll about 3 three quarters of the page down to Heron....>   Also shows a label there too.

Colors there look right with Anne bowl -- and You Folks (Sue and Christine) suggestions !!!!

Ohhhhhh now we're getting somewhere! Thank you girls. :kissy:

Look what Wayne has listed in his eBay shop: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360254162021 - the finish on this and the colour looks like a dead match for my bowl!

PS Sue, Heron did yellow glass, their old catalogue lists it as Gold.  :hiclp:

I'm pretty sure my bowl and this came from the same place.  :usd:

All very interesting - I didn't know they did yellow - I've only ever seen pastel pinks, blues and greens. These pieces in yellow also seem to be much thicker glass than I'm used to associating with Heron.
Do you think you might have cracked the mystery?

I certainly do, Sue.  We also have Amy on the board whose family set up and run Heron glass, so she may be able to confirm it for me. I'll drop her a line and ask if she can look in again. :)
