Pressed Vase with Storks and Rushes -ID Help Please
« on: December 26, 2010, 01:36:22 AM »
Hello Everyone,
Please may I have some help identifying my vase - I have been looking online but have not found a maker.

The vase is just over 10 inches (255mm)tall,, just under 6 1/2 inches (160mm) at its widest point and the wides part of the base is 4 3/4 inches(120mm). The raised decoration of the stork, the rushes flower-heads, wave lines and the water lilies are not acid etched but the rest is. The storks are different on either side, one left facing and one right facing so one side view has two heads and rushes and the other side view two tails and rushes. The base appears to have haves been ground/polished level when made although it is no longer shiny but has reasonable wear. The vase weighs over 1 kg. Its colour is rather a washed out amber - quite pale slightly grey to my eyes, not unlike a larger or pale ale!
Thanks and regards,
Cheers

I had a slightly similar vase with this stork & it was Libochovice, but better wait for confirmation from others. Ken
