Pressed vase - split diamond pattern - Bagley??

(1/2) > >>

Chris Harrison:
This looks as though it should go along with the Bagley split diamond water set from 1937.  I have one of the tumblers, and the pattern and the shade of the flint seem to match the vase.
I have the 3rd edition of Angela's Bagley book and CD, and the vase isn't in there.
Does anyone know whether Bagley made a vase in this pattern?  Or whether anyone else did?
Ta
Chris

David E:
Can you give us the height, please Chris?

Chris Harrison:
Of course.  Duuh!   :-[

15.5 cm / a fraction over 6"

Anne:
Hi Chris, I don't think the pattern on your vase above matches the split diamond example shown in Bagley Glass 3rd edition (page142, or page 119 in 2nd edition for anyone who hasn't yet bought the revised 3rd version - if not, why not? It's good!  8))

The split diamond pattern is just that: a diamond split down the middle, whereas yours is more complex than that. I agree the shape of the vase looks like the split diamond vase though.

Perhaps Angela can add more - I'll drop her a line and ask if she can take a looksee for you.

Chris Harrison:
Ah, thanks Anne.

I just realised that my vase's pattern has diamonds whose split is alternately vertical and horizontal whereas, with the Bagley pattern, the splits are vertical only.

My bad, as the young people say...
