I'd say the very first pic I posted is the closest to actual colour. I can post pics with the light behind it if you think that would give a clearer idea. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Anthony.
This is a longshot but have a look very carefully on the base and see if you can see a very tiny and I mean tiny J and Z which are joined together one on top of the other.
You have to look carefully.

Hi Mike. I checked and there's nothing. I showed it to an auction house and they thought it was possibly Bohemian glass. But I guess that covers a whole range of factories...

Hi,
I thought it could have been Jan Zeman as this is very much like his work and still could be as there are unsigned pieces of his that are out there. Put his name in Google followed glass and you will see what I mean .
You are right in thinking that Bohemia covers a multitude of countries but theres a good chance its from some where in that region.
I'll bear you in mind should I come across another piece like yours.
