Yellow & white Italian dish?

(1/2) > >>

I bought this dish recently on the assumption that it was probably Italian 1970s, does this seem likely? All thoughts much appreciated. It measures 6 inches across and has a polished out concave base. Thanks John

Hi: a piece like this has appeared before here, in yellow/white. red/white, green/white and with the colours also being reversed, i.e. the white outside. The strongest support was for a Chinese attribution. I have a couple of very similar pieces and I'm not so sure, thinking that at least some of them were made in Murano as you suggest. The colours seems too clear and the base too well-finished for Chinese. I'll be interested to hear what others think now.

Thanks David, hopefully someone else may have a suggestion.

Ivo:
While it is true that some similar items have been made in Empoli (not Murano!) these tend to have a much stronger lattimo. The watery milky colour used by the Chinese is what is evident in your first picture. So I vote Chinese...

Oh well, keep looking I guess & keep reading this forum!!!. Thanks Ivo
