Topic: Crystal (Prism Cut) Tealight

 :hi: I bought this as I thought it was pretty.  Definitely glass (not hard plastic) as it does have a impact mark on the top.  This is a tea light, but not sure if it could also be considered a Paperweight Tea light (??), as a dual purpose.  Anyways about 3 inches tall, and 3.5 inches wide.  Very, very heavy.  Base has good wear on it. 

Looks really pretty with a candle in it, and the way the Prisms cast the light.  I do not care about the small damage, as I am using it daily here.  I have not found any info yet.

Almost anything that is less than, say, approx 5 inch (13 cm) diameter could be used as a paperweight! And if larger than that size, almost anything could be used as a doorstop. But unless something is actually made as a paperweight or doorstop, then it is what is was made for - not what it might be used for.

There is a problem however, with some things that are catalogued by companies as "paperweights" but which might be better termed as "figurines" (for example, lots of the birds and bears (etc.) made by various companies around the world).

But a tea light is a tea light, not a paperweight.

I was thinking of salt as well, before I even scrolled down to Christine's suggestion.

I don't think anything with any age to it was made as a tealight holder as they are a more recent invention, I mean that standard size candle in metal or plastic that we've all come to know as a "tealight". Not sure when they got so popular but I'm thinking 90s? 80s? Sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but that's my memory of them.

Thanks for the replies.  I would not know what a Salt looked like here --- lol -- as I am still trying to figure out the difference between a celery vase, and a plain old vase...lol.

I take it a Salt, held salt?  And they could be of any design?  I take it    :huh:
