Ah Jindra, I don't think you are being malicious... you are simply very fortunate -- and at least (in this case) I've got 1/3 of your good fortune.  ;D   When I find a head vase, I will be 2/3 as fortunate.

The bowl is magnificent.  :mrgreen:

Edit:  How different (and interesting) the bowl is from the vases -- whereas I see a 'tribal' face in the vase(s), I see two kissing people in the bowl... LOVELY!

Anik's vase is lovely and Jindrich's bowl is amazing too! Well done Anik on another great Czech glass find, your collection is really becoming substantial with significant additions such as this ....

vase by Claus Josef Riedel for Riedel Glas, dating from the 60ies (was on my wishlist for quite some time)  :D

Congratulations, Michael!!!  It's always terribly exciting to finally get a long sought-after piece. ;D   I wish you many more wishlist finds!

I've never seen one of these before...  it's really quite interesting, but I can't quite decide whether I like it or hate it.  I think the 'mouth' on your Riedel vase disturbs me a bit -- it's kind of 'clownish'.  I really don't like clowns.  :wsh:

I'm not so fond of clowns either :)
But I like this ridiculous vase.

And I have to admit that all Claus Josef Riedel designs are on my wishlist ;D (I already have quite a few).
His work is really the only post war Austrian glass design worth collecting.
Some are really beautiful and elegant, some more on the "interesting" side (like this one, and a huge jug I own with a moulded sailing ship).

But especially his Ikebana vases are really looking great with flowers in them -- whereas many of my beloved Czech vases are more beautiful than useful :)
