Brockwitz and Stoelzle tea- and food-warmers
Glen:
Pamela - many thanks for remembering my tea warmer, and for showing us your collection of beauties. What delightful and contrasting shapes. Splendid. Thank you so much.
Anne and Anne E.B. - thank you both too. It's absolutely fascinating to see the design progression of this intriguing, functional yet fabulous, form.
And Pamela, I have just recently (in the past few days) found out something extra regarding my tea warmer. It is both revealing and yet puzzling, and deepens the mystery. I'll try and upload the information to my website and mention it here, as soon as I have done it.
Thanks again to you all, for sharing.
Glen
Anne:
Pamela, One of mine (the stone circle effect one) is Bel Mondo by Becker (it was boxed) like t'other Anne's. These are German I believe - have you heard of them at all? The other I have no idea of maker as yet but I'm keeping looking for the answer. I love them as they are so beautifully ice-clear - we use them as tealight holders and have them lit along with other candles when watching a film on video/DVD.
Glen, I agree about the design progression. I had assumed these were a modern thing until you posted yours and it became obvious this was an older object being given a new modern styling. Having said that, I'd love to find the older ones to add to my collection as well. ;)
