Tricorn vase with stylised mermaid
« on: May 11, 2012, 04:31:46 PM »
I was told this vase was bought from an antique shop in Norway many years ago, but haven't a clue where it was made, but think it is most likely Scandinavian in origin ???  There is a polished pontil mark on the base, and the mermaid is very stylised in design.
Any help would be welcomed :)

Unfortunately she's not in the same league as the Orrefors mermaid pieces which seem to have been done by different designers.
But I really like the simple shape, although her tail looks a bit like a pineapple :)
