Whitefriars or Caithness 1980 Garland with Rose Center

John is right about the clichy style rose cane. Also, the yellow flowers are daffodils which are rare. They are listed in the whitefriars literature as 'special daffodil canes'. I have only seen them once before and that was in a miniature weight. What size is your weight.

Hi Allan

The Whitefriars Paperweights Collectors Guide (by Brian Slingsby and Judy Taylor) shows a good selection of trial pieces, and I recall Brian Slingsby - who was Techical Director at Whitefriars - saying during a talk to the PCC that there were usually a variety of trial pieces produced each year, from which the next year's production designs were chosen.  Perhaps this is such a trial piece.
