Signed Mystery Vase-Thick, Melon Color Glass
« on: February 09, 2011, 08:01:13 PM »
Hi folks.  I recently acquired this glass vase.  I thought the form and color of the glass were very nice and appealing.  It is signed on the bottom, but I cannot figure it out.  I'm posting on here in hopes that someone may recognize the form or the signature.  It measures 9.5" inches tall and 7" inches wide.  It looks so familiar to me, but I can't quite place it.  Please help!

Read the info in the reference section and see if you can provide the signature with a much larger image size.  When I blow it up it it seems to show "Fi?e......" but it distorts.  Try for a second shot of the signature from a shallow angle - it means the base reflects light but the writing appears black.  The benefit is that the colours of the glass and any distortions are not in the photo  (see example appended).

I will post a larger photo of the signature later today.  The problem is with the texture of the glass.  I tried several angles, but the glass is a little lumpy and refracts the light oddly enough that it distorts the signature.  I will give it a few tries nonetheless.

I figured it out.  It reads "Fire & Light".

This one I think http://www.fireandlight.com/04giftware.html, though their website is not over user friendly.

Yes, it's called an "Aurora" vase.  It's true, their website is a little lacking.
