i saw that too jp, lovely figure,

I had wondered if it could possibly be Salviati withe the type of eyes used and the gold in the tusks, oh and the body colour.
Here comes the but, I wonder if Salviati ever made such a model.
Best I can do JP, nice buy though  :hiclp:

jp, it is a nice elephant. I have no idea who did it. I thought maybe Fratelli Toso, but I haven't seen these types of legs in elephants I know that they did. If we can figure out who made it, it would look very bright and colorful in the zoo. I do not think it is Salviati because of the cutting of the upper legs. I've never seen any of their animals finished like this. Surprisingly, as distinctive as elephants look, they can be among the hardest to attribute. I noticed there is a similar red elephant being offered. I wondered if they were a pair.

Yes Anita same seller but there are subtle differences particularly the legs , so they were not mass produced but hand made , they have a likeness to some of the early Barovier Elephants i have seen , applied in the same manner .

Gorgeous Ellie JP, absolutely my type of glass. All that detail, he would look lovely on my windowsill  :sun:
I didn't realise you collected glass animals, have you got any others to show us? ;D
