Smokey grey Scandi? vase... - ID = Wedgwood

(1/2) > >>

Anne:
This is another recent vase I cannot identify. It is quite heavy for its size, smoky grey, I suspect it's Scandinavian but I can't find any references to it. Does anyone recognise it please?

Sklounion:
Hi Anne,
Might well be Wedgwood, probably a Thrower design. Just based on colour alone. At that period would have carried a plastic Wedgwood label, rather than etched mark.
Regards,
Marcus

Anne:
Thanks Marcus, I hadn't considered Wedgwood as a possibility. I'll see what I can find. :)

Anne:
Another one to follow up... I found an almost identical vase - same height, base diameter, neck diameter, colour. Small differences are: the second one has optical ribbing and an etched Wedgwood label, and weighs 675g. The original one weighs 710g.

Picture of them side by side for comparison (click thumbnail for larger image):

Marcus, do you think they are from the same maker?

Sklounion:
Hi Anne,
I think it is highly likely these are probably from the same factory, though not the same "chair".
regards,
Marcus
