Pair of small blue enamelled vases - Czech? ID request
« on: April 16, 2013, 10:15:27 PM »
A really pretty enamlelled pair of blue vases that measure just over 8.5cm tall. Painted roses and a red jewel like cabochon. They are top rim cut (which was painted gold) and the bases have a central well.

I think you have a pair of crocus vases there, made in Bohemia before 1900.
Bohemia made a staggering amount of bulb vases for the English market. That still surprises me as the British had just about all their own factories producing bulb vases until WWI

Thanks Patricia. I guess the most difficult thing with these vases is a maker as always.
