For Reference - Scandinavian Style Hooped Vase = Japanese!

Just posting this here for anyone interested, a vase recently listed on ebay (auction has finished), could easily be thought of as Scandinavian or German, turns out this one has a handy label which reads "Japan".

Here's another one that turned out to be Japanese.  It's cropped up on this board a few times.  Elme of Sweden was suggested, then Hirschberg of Germany, finally found one with a label - Japan!

Comes in a veriety of colours, usually with inner white casing:
