"L" under a Cranberry Wine Glass ID appreciated

I picked up two very grubby cranberry glass large wine glasses for a pound in a local clearance shop. When washed them I found the letter L underneath in the centre. There is some age related wear but I'm thinking they must be modern - I was always told earlier generations would never have quaffed the 250ml this glass cheerfully holds! Any ideas anyone? L for Luminarc?
