Bobbin vase....who, what, where, when???

 :hat: Can anyone throw some light on this big beastie please  :X:  I bought it in a junk shop many years ago...15 at least.  It was filthy, but cleaned up rather nicely.  I've never seen another like it, mind you I don't trawl ebay regularly... none of my 'local' contacts seem to recognise it - it's over to the GMB :wsh:  :hi: cheers steph. 

ps its about 20" high 4"dia. only approx as its in a box hidden away.
