Here is a pretty, unsigned bird that is on the same type of base. This bird looks a lot like Zanella's work, but I would be hesitant to attribute without a signature. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260771132654 The bird reminds me of the Zanella bird that is in the zoo, except the zoo bird has a flat base and is signed. The zoo bird is at http://sites.google.com/site/muranozoo/birds-reptiles-2.

Added a few minutes later: There's another bird with a similar base and beak as Chris's bird at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200592341627. Another generic label. Rats! I have a feeling these birds will be hard to trace to makers.
