Far more recent than Hartley Wood!
It is in the index of Hadjamach, but it's also hard to fathom.

I think Hartley Wood finally closed in 1989. Chris is close. This came from the the National Glass Centre in 1998/9 and was made in the studio there.

:pb: Ooops, I didn't know that about Hartley Wood - I thought they had closed much earlier.

ooh good quiz!! What size is the vase Christine and who made it?  is there a particular designer or blower?
I didn't  think Hartley Wood did close before shutting for good, but that they had a last attempt to try something new near the end before shutting for good.  I'm still convinced the two vases I have are both Hartley Wood 'gift ware'.  I've seen two more since on Ebay, both very similar to mine and purporting to be from Hartley Wood.  Chris as a matter of interest what is the size of that vase please?

The one in the second link with the 'stained glass' pattern  is a later Sunderland glass one 8" high some were stamped HW on the base.
The ones I like are the earlier swirly ones with the kicked out base, rough pontil marks uneven rims and bases and loads of stray bubbles.
Here are some below..........

Some really early ones with one of the later style in the back ground

thanks Chris :)  I love those squat ones with the uneven rims.  They're really beautiful pieces of glass.
