Bohemian trinket box, date?
« on: May 09, 2011, 01:27:02 AM »
Hello,
Could anybody help me to date this box please? It has two old stickers: a label with Egermann portrait on the cover and a small label on the bottom that reads Nicolaus Franz Nachf. Frankfurt and has some hand written numbers, too. I hope that retailer's sticker can tell some story but the only info I managed to find on the internet was the dates 'late 1800s-1914' given on this web page http://www.steinmarks.co.uk/pages/pv.asp?p=stein75
Does it seem possible that the box was made during that period?
It does have a pontil mark, polished but still visible.

Thank you!
