Just thought I would add this here, that there is a really nice Wave-crest (glass) on Ebay [HERE]   The satin inside it gone, but the designs on the outside are really nice.

Is it just us North American people that like this type of Vintage Glass?  :huh2:

Rose when it comes to Wavecrest...its U.S. & the only real interest is U.S. based. I can add an example of "interest"...Mdina fish vases draw a great deal of interest in Europe while here there is almost zero interest. There was one (teal blue/green) in my mall, signed although not Michael Harris, it was another guy who worked along side him & it just sold for $80 after sitting there, properly identified for over two years & the original price was $250. Just depends on where you are & what you like. Ken

Hi Ken:

Yes I understand that -- but because of this board I now expand looking for other items too.  Be it Czech glass, or my first piece of WF, and the Mdina Birds that I have.  This board has helped me to expand my desires for different types of glass --- so if this works for me -- then (maybe) I can help expand interest of Wavecrest to others over the pond too.

It is all Glass, and I bet they can find some good deals $$ over the Pond since Wavecrest is less of a collectible glass over there.

I just hope we all expand-our-horizons when it comes to collecting glass.  All for the love of it...

Rose I can respond to that by simply saying two words "shipping costs". I'd have more than a few Walther figural flower frogs IF (note caps) shipping was affordable, but when you add the costs of shipping...well that does that & I'm far, far, far from being alone here in the U.S in that regard. Thats life in the big city. Ken

Many people tend to collect what can be found in their own country and only then move on to buying from abroad. A fair amount of imported American glass (I bought a piece of Heisey Winged Scroll just this week) is found over here but I can't say I've ever seen any Wavecrest.

There were at least two U.S. companies that had showrooms & sold inventory in London from the late 20's right up to WWII, Cambridge & Tiffin. Not sure about Heisey, but wouldn't suprise me since the other two were there. Tiffin's Gold line in Royal Blue was a hit in London during the 30's & sold very well. Cambridge flower frogs did decently well & so did their general line of opaques, Ivory, Primrose, Helio, Jade & Azurite.

Yes, because of the Board here I have heard names of Mdina, and WF -- which I had never heard of before.  So now I lookout for those items since over the pond you guys know so much about them.  I am just assuming that IF you ever see some Wavecrest at a sale, or on the Net for a good price -- you too are now familiar with them......we can branch out into so many different glass pieces from different areas of the world.

Thanks to this board -- I have learned about others -- as others have learned about Wavecrest over there!!  So might be worth snagging a piece if, and when you find a piece over there.

I love my piece -- and since it still has *both* the top and the bottom silk  in it!!  :thup:
