The lack of facial detail etc on that figure in the new photo's is much more obvious. I certainly would not have confused them with my figure if I had seen them when I visited Marcus's website.
One thing I did not previously noticed on my figure is that it has some form of impressed registration number in the base cavity which is unfortunately rather indistinct in places. Figures/numbers look like BIVE over N36098, there is then a gap followed by an oblique. Perhaps these figures may jog someone's memory.

Even without other details, the base is entirely different as Marcus pointed out earlier in this thread.

Hi Bryn,

I probably wouldn't have picked the differences a few years ago, either. It's all a matter of training the eye. Just recently, the whole Australian carnival collecting scene has had to become a lot more careful about noting very subtle differences in shape, angle, curves, relative sizes and distances, because they have had to deal with fakes - and because they'd never had the problem before, very experienced people have been fooled.

It's all good experience.

Hi Cathy,
Yes, some times though I can get a bit carried away. I think I've had my wrists slapped now and rightly so. I was so pleased in believing I had found a match that unfortunaty I did not give it a second look.
I think I became a bit over confident in my abilty after finding a match for one of my old identity questions last week, having been told on the board that it was something else. I was also reprimanded for my spelling on that occasion as well, phew, What a dunce!! ::). I think I have found a match for another of my earlier listings but I think I will keep it under wraps at least for the time being, let the wounds heal on this experience first, methinks.
These amateurs must know their place!! ;D
Cheers,
Bryn (not Brian) I think!

Your figurine is rather like the Desna pieces, go to www.timelesspath.com you could email them and ask if it is one of theirs.

Hi Dexter,
Sorry for the delay in replying, I'd got so used to getting the old email reminders from Glassmessages that I simply missed your message. Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I tried to get into the timelesspass site through your link but failed, but was able to get into the site using my search engine. As you remarked they do make similar styled pieces to mine although possibly a little softer in design. I will certainly follow up on your suggestion to Email them a picture.
Many Thanks once more your assistance.
