Topic: Murano? bull

I wonder if someone might be able to help me identify this glass bull. Its been sent to me by one of our shops for valuation and they described it as "Murano". Do you think it is?

I think it may well be Murano but I can also see that it was made very shoddy, almost careless - so we're not talking about a big name and big ticket item.  I cannot see many redeeming features in this piece, and personallly I would not spend 3,50 for it. But maybe someone else can?

I suppose we're all entitled to our opinions (perhaps being a little less harsh would be helpful), so I'll share mine.

I too believe it is Murano. I like the stance of the bull, very handsome.
As for the make, can't be of any assistance.

I hope you're able to sell it and the buyer has many years of enjoyment.

Thank you both. Something similar sold for £20 including P&P on eBay so I'll give the shop a guide price along those lines but to consider a little damage on the top of his tail. Hopefully someone will like him

As a rule, when I am looking at a new query on GMB, I just look at the opening question and try to form my own opinion before scrolling down the page to see what others have to say. 
In this case, I have to say my first thought was......yes, Murano, lovely piece. nice dimensions and stance and quite a nice quality, so it seems I agree with Rob.
Had I thought differently, I might well have taken my Fathers advice....."If you have nothing good to say, it is best to say nothing."
I hope the charity shop gets a quick sale and a good price, because the longer it sits on the shelf, the more likely it is to get broken!

Hi Marah, We are all learning , all the time, and often it is the queries people post,that make us research things we know little or nothing about....so we are all winners.
Keep posting your questions along with the rest of us, and if in the meantime our help makes money for your Charity, then all of us here would agree, we have had some pretty good Charity shop finds ourselves, and so 'Payback' time is never too soon.

Interestingly, no-one's asked the size of this item, unless I've missed it somewhere?

If this item has damage (as mentioned to the tail) then whatever price it was worth, it isn't any more.  Any damage to glass items devalues them far more than you would think, in effect making them much less saleable unless they are, as Ivo says 'high ticket items', ie rare and desirable.
