square green vase
« on: May 23, 2011, 03:51:35 PM »
I bought this vase assuming it would be uranium but it isn't - no UV reaction at all. Since then I have seen it for sale in different colours. I assume it's quite modern. It's about 25 cm tall (but I'll have to double-check). Anything else anyone could tell me? Thanks very much.

Barnardos had these a couple of years ago, selling as new stock, so I suspect bought in from eastern Europe or the far east or similar, Julie.

Possibly a coloured version of this one by Couronne (Spanish recycled glassmaker) http://www.couronneco.com/g4631-recycled-glass-vase.htm - they have colours in smaller shaped ones still: http://www.couronneco.com/glass_vase_wholesale.htm

Yes very similar, esp the sloped bottom inside the vase but the top is a bit different. The Courone one has something around the top, my green one has a flat top which has been hand-polished.
