Whitefriars? amber lobed bowl
« on: June 25, 2011, 10:52:49 AM »
Picked this up last week pretty sure it was Whitefriars till I searched the catalogues and couldn't nail it down to a pattern number.
Posted a picture on whitefriars.com hoping someone would recognise it as maybe Hogan/Wilson?Hill piece?
If anyone thinks it is or maybe a suggestion of another make would be helpful.
9.5" across 3" high and weighs a good 2 kg

For anyone who visits both sites here is a link to the suggestions so far on .com

Ellis Bergh did quite a few lobed designs for Kosta, probably a bit of a long shot - usually you would find a B with an etched three or four digit number on the base.

:24:  sorry Chris but that did make me laugh

I thought there'd been a Stuart bowl with lobes like that?  But then I just dredged that from nowhere and didn't check before writing it so probably not  :-\

Thanks John and Ross, not marked still veering towards W/f though could be in the 'mythical' 1953 catalogue which no seems to have a copy quite a few things apparently were only in that catalogue for 1 year?
