Hi,
german glassworks ´Friedrich Kristall´ and ´Ingridglas´ made quite a few dimpled
designs in the 60´s and 70´s. I´d tend towards Friedrich for your vase, but I don´t
know, if they ever had names for their patterns and series.
You´ll find a few further Friedrich designs on Jan Kilian´s site:
http://www.glaskilian.de/Friedrich.507.0.html
and some in my webalbum.

It is a vase, or is it a carafe (tumble up) missing its glass?

The glass fits over the neck, so there wouldn't be any sign of a lid. Here's a random example http://www.westwall.com/images/A090529/Glass_-_Depression_-_Tumble-up.jpg

The same.  :) Friedrich Kristall was run by Karl Friedrich in Trappenkamp.
