Help with ID of Green glass fish vase 38cm
« on: August 10, 2011, 05:44:38 AM »
Hello to all,
I would like to find out the maker of this piece, or most likely source.
I was directed elsewhere over to the Steuben 6421 (~ 1925 - 30) but it isn't similar. Same period perhaps?
I purchased maybe 15 years ago. At that time I was told it came to Canada (1920's or 30's? maybe sooner) by way of England, but do not know if an English glass maker. Also, any additional ideas on age?
It has a sheen to it, not sure if an acid wash. Would you recognise the glass color, or the swirled base bring to mind anyone?
It is in storage and I cannot locate other photos.
There is a similar piece found in an auction search but it had limited information, suggesting it was a Steuben.
I would very much appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.
KP

bump ...
Here is a link to a similar item for more angled views. Differences though as mine has a swirled base and different shaped fish.

I see the link mentions a possibility of being Italian, that would be my first guess..
