"Lighthouse" candle holders ID = Jurnikl for Sklo Union
« on: July 30, 2011, 02:24:56 AM »
Hi all

I've had these for a while now and wonder if anyone can tell me anything about them.  7cm tall and 6.5cm each four sides.  A place for a taper candle in the top the base has a large space and the four sides are equally "hollowed' out.  I hope you can see what I mean in the pictures.

Any help gratefully accepted.

Looks like a "Jurnikl-cube" to me :)

So Czech pressed glass, Sklo Union, design Rudolf Jurnikl.

Rosie, it is perfectly alright (and very useful) to point out that there are similar pieces by other makers! ;)

I just had to confirm the ID because this is one of the few pieces of glass I know what I am talking about...

Guys - you all know so much more than me - chill! (as they say here).  The contrast between the two is extremely useful as there is sooooo much Chinese stuff around and especially here in San Francisco with a very old Chinese community.

Thanks to ALL of you and I will be posting soon as I have just won a very strange vase on Goodwill.

Have a happy Thursday wherever you are.
