Joan of Arc Pressed glass Candlestick - help Id Please
« on: August 20, 2011, 12:45:06 PM »
Hello All and thanks for your recent help.  I have this large candlestick with a satinized figure of Joan of Arc and the base has 4 name plates.  I have looked through pressglass website and Val St Lambert and Brockwitz have the most similarities but would love to know if any actually knows the maker?  The frosting is only on the figure and this is 25cm tall

the probability that it is French is very high. Joan - the national French heroine - was canonised 1920 and your candlestick may have been made around that time - probably by Valérysthal or Portieux.

Hello and thanks for that and I have now found one sold in USA in January and it was detailed as Portieux 1920s pressed glass.
