RAY:
hi Pamela

can you please translate this if you can make it out thanks

click on thumbnail for larger photo, users beware large file

pamela:
Hi Ray,
it reads

REICHSMÜTTERDIENST IM DEUTSCHEN FRAUENWERK
MUTTERTAG 1935

I need a little time for historically correct translation, but can say already now, Muttertag is Mother's Day, in Germany always the second Sunday in May  :)

returning to you later

pamela:
it must be comparable to Hitler's WHW Winterhilfswerk Spendenbelege - google WHW Tieste Bremen please
in German language we tend to build endless words....

it reads
REICH (genitiv-S) MÜTTER (plural of MUTTER mother) DIENST (service)
IM (within) DEUTSCHEN (german) FRAUENWERK (women's association?)

difficult, Ray, as I have no ancestors alive I could ask  :(

and this leads me to a general question to all GMB members:
am I really the only one in Germany who contributes here? In fact I never came across a neighbour so far  :?

Ivo:
We're seriously lacking in Belgians and French collectionneurs, too

RAY:
thanks for your time Pamela
