Glass marbles
« on: February 12, 2012, 08:45:59 AM »
I have a collection of glass marbles I recently got with a couple of wooden solitaire boards and was wondering if there was anywhere on the web to help identify the age of some of the marbles, as some of them look very old.

There are also a few latticino marbles and swirl type ones, large and small marbles.

Any help in finding a site of forum that could help would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

I don't know of any websites but there are books available, here is one title available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Everett-Grists-Book-Marbles-Identification/dp/089145540X

Thank you, I will take a look at the book and see if I can identify any of these marbles.

I'd have thought there would be some forum dedicated to marbles somewhere - they're a big collectable field on their own.  :spls:

Thank you Pamela for the links and the welcome :)

The sites are just what I am looking for, now hopefully I can date some of these marbles, some look to be Victorian in age.

Thank you everyone for the replies and help.
