Topic: Dark amber vase with flutes

Hi, i would be gratefull if anyone could ID this dark amber vase with side flutes. Its 9.5 inches tall and 5.75 across the top rim. The lower half of the vase has small irregular panels and weighs 1610g plus ware scratches to base .

Looks Czech.

or German.... The vase is 'Luxor' by August Walther & Sohne. You should be able to find it in the 1934 Walther catalogue
 

Interestingly some versions of this vase turn up with 'Belge' or 'Fait en Belgique' marks. I believe it is as yet unknown whether a Belgian firm also made the design, or whether Walther added spurious marks to help sales in the Belgian market. I think this has been discussed before on the board - a search for Walther Luxor should bring up some more info...

It is intriguing how often similarities pop-up between Czech and Belgian glass, I suspect it must have something to do with all the Sudeten glassmakers kicked out of Czechoslovakia after WW2.

How about this one! Lots of similarities and differences, but fundamentally the same concept. Did you check the 34 catalogue Malcom, I presume it is on PK site.
