italian/english glass bowl/vase flying saucer type thingy.

am pretty sure this piece is italian but not positive of that. I bought this piece on a whim. I saved it for some reason didn't really think much about it. it was one of those, interesting. I'll save it just for kicks type thing. Usually I forget about this type of saved auction but then I had a dream about it?!?! I figured if it's going to show up in my dreams I probably need to bid on it. So I did and I was the only bid on it. I am pretty sure I've seen this before somewhere but I can't recall where or who it might be. someone on the Ebay board thought English but they didn't really know why it struck them this way. The colors on this are not accurate. it's really hard to photograph. it's an opalescent lavender color. the base is a clear lilac and it goes to a milky lilac. the buttons are the same color as the glass. with a combination of clear and milky. I will try and get better pictures showing the color but I am not sure what I am going to have to do to achieve that.

So does anyone recognize it. the base has some wear. the pontil is cut but not polished. I am guessing a time period of 1930-1970.
