Amber Phoenician Glass onion vase - approx date anyone?
« on: September 29, 2011, 12:58:37 AM »
Hi - I finally gave in after looking at (and wanting) this vase for about a year, and bought it :)

It is clearly signed and labelled (triangular label) ,  and I have found similar label and signature on the reference site, but no dates.
Nor have I found reference to any other Phoenician glass pieces in this colour - most others seem to be pinks greens and blues.

It is 8 inches or 20 cm tall, 12 cm or 4.5 inches diameter.
Beautiful amber colour, with trails of greeny-gold iridescence, which are quite deeply textured at the base - becoming thinner as they go up the vase.

Would appreciate any info available as to when it is likely to have been made - 80's or more recently?  It has reasonably good base wear showing.
I bought it from USA if that is of any interest.

Hmmm, have they gone under. Their website, which used to have all the colour variants, has gone.

Hi All,

Got a very fast response back from my email to Phoenician Glass. I'm pleased to say that Phoenician Glass are still going, albeit after some internal changes by the sound of it. Email response below:

To quote:
"Phoenician Glass has recently undergone drastic changes in admnistration, so
the website has not been updated, but I can assure you that Phoenician glass
is still trading in a newly refurbished premises."

JAK, if you wish to contact them directly regarding your onion vase, their email address is: phoenician.glass@go.net.mt

 :)
