Festival Glass - I like it! I recently composed a listing of all the names I could discover that Carnival has been known by, over the last (almost) 100 years. I got to a grand total of 95. "Festival" was not in the listing, so that makes 96.
Anne, your two Carnival vases are:-
on the left, the taller one, is Imperial's "Ripple" vase
on the right, the short one, is Dugan/Diamond's "Thin Rib"
Both are found in the UK and both are considered to be "Classic Carnival" - and interestingly the treatment whereby the top of the vase has a lot of iridescence and the lower part has none, is also something that seems to be seen in the UK more than elsewhere. I think it might actually have been intended to imitate some art glass that was iridised with an upper band of lustre.
