Hi,

Does anyone know the origins of this type of item at all? Perhaps its just a common modern decanter but looks skilfully made....

Thanks, Charlene

Stylistically, the outline shape of the body is, I believe, called 'shouldered'  -  and together with either two or three neck rings ( but possibly not one like yours), was a product of the middle Georgian period  i.e.  c. 1760 - 1780, approximately.           The stopper is almost pure Dartington.     Would suggest that your entire piece was made in the last 10 years.     Sorry that this is not really of any use whatsoever. :)
