For what it's worth, I think it's absolutely entrancing  ..  and I don't like glass animals much (sorry Rosie). The colour is simply spiffing old girl and the shape, well, just brilliant! Of course, I can't help with I.D. 
 :wsh: before you tell me off for not adding anything useful.

Thanks angel2....(feel I should call myself angel1!) I'm glad you think it spiffing,  not too sure about the 'old girl' bit,  but I might forgive you and not excommunicate you from the 'angels' club!
I paid £4 for it....not a lot for a piece that is clearly quite rare.

Rosie I think this is absolutely beautiful.  I can't see why you say not high quality as it is moulded though.  To my eye the design is stunning and making a mould for it cannot have been easy...can it?  I've been wracking my brains to think who or what maker may have used that deep amethyst glass.  It is the perfect colour for the piece.

Thank you m,  I keep looking at art deco glass gazelles and antelopes,  but only metal or porcelain ones look similar.....I have decided to give a prize of my special Ardeche Lavender to the one who finds the maker's name........ :sun:

Rosie, you could also try searching 'ibex' (although I drew a blank when I searched yesterday).

And all I have come up with is that Steuben used amethyst glass and they did a gazelle, but I've only found one in clear and the horns don't look the same 
Perhaps it's not a 'gazelle'
I don't suppose it has any markings on it anywhere does it?  even the smallest faintest mark?

Hi Chris, Sabino do one called a gazelle.....I haven't seen an ibex in East Africa.....only in North Africa and the Alpine European region.
