Tall Amber Vase With Veins - Czech, Italian Or Other?
« on: October 22, 2011, 08:05:54 PM »
Tall vase (40cm) with random opaque red threads. Applied base and carved-out pontil mark.

The shape of the vase looks typically Czech, but the glass is quite thick. Most of the labeled Czech vases of this type are much thinner. Also, the carved-out pontil mark doesn't immediately strike me as a feature of much Czech glass.

Murano could be an outside possibility, but the glass is quite seedy, fairly lightweight despite the thickness, and the quality doesn't seem to be there.

Any clues? Thanks, as always, for taking a peek.
