I think it's very lovely - but I know very little about this period - it's mostly far too expensive for me!
I do think the shades look very similar to the scanned picture - but tulip-shaped shades are very popular and made by many makers.

Frank has a very good eye for this sort of thing, Alberto, lights and bulbs and fittings are a major interest he has - so I'd be confident in what he has said.

It is a wonderful, decorative and functional thing. I could live with it very happily (apart from the dusting) - but sadly, it isn't the right sort of thing for my sitting-room.

Sorry for teasing about the carabiner  - are you a rock-climber? My partner is - so I know a bit about his equipment - and I'm used to seeing it in odd places!
