I don't fetishize names in collecting, but it's good to know if they're Poli designs or not. The decanter is special (to me) because the stopper is also cased. The lighter is does not fluoresce under black light.

I'd say no on the lighter. The decanter? Don't know. But it's FABULOUS! I have a collection of these sommerso decanters, and covet yours!

Thanks Laura! It's quite a compliment to have one's taste vindicated by a great authority and connoisseur such as yourself. While I was at it, I thought I'd post a picture of another piece in my collection, one I've seen described as "Poli" on the web, but I'm skeptical. This one is very small, measuring 7" tall and (naturally) has no signature but does seem to be vintage with wear to base.

OK, now I'm really embarrassed. Cut it out!

Back to the vase: while the original design may or may not be Poli, this shape has been done for years by various companies. My vote would be that this one is not by Seguso Vetri d'Arte.

The decanter looks to have the Seguso scalloped label, at least the remnants of it. I really like the color on it. Looks like an excellent piece!
The lighter could be a Cenedese piece. I had a similar one in yellow with a rectangular Murano label, attributed to Cenedese.

And Laura, where did all those come from?

I really like the yelow one, and the one next to it in a golden color. Really nice!

The decanters come from here there and everywhere. I think a few might have come from Javier!

I'm less and less sure I should put this pic on here, but I've taken the photo now, so I might as well! :lol:

The decanter colouring reminded me of my vase (link below) by Aseda...probably Bo Borgstrom. The colour combination seemed quite odd for Murano, but I see that Laura has some similar items in her collection... Oh well...here's the pic anyway, one can never have too much information! :roll: :wink:
