« on: October 29, 2011, 07:33:51 PM »
lighter base 657g and 6.5 x 6.52 cm. Chamfered edges (60s or 70s) Lighter not marked. Gas not petrol.

candle holder 600g and 7.5 x 7 cm (cavity is much bigger) moulded edges. (possibly later, for Ikea?)

thoughts welcome.

Well, only thing I can say for sure: not Jurnikl cubes.
Sorry, I cannot really help you much further...

Here is an interesting thread on lookalikes: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,37932.0.html

It would be great if this thread could be merged with the Junikl cube thread.

It is clear to me that my blue lighter base is better quality than the votive and I thought it was most likely European and possibly central European at that. But after seeing that stunning piece from China I shrug my shoulders and give up (for now).

Elsewhere I posted about much smaller cubic votives. I have added to this collection with at least 3 different models all on a very similar theme. There are indeed many pretenders. Ikea are guilty for 'democratising' good design. It's all good. I never pay a lot for anything I buy. One of the privileges of being poor!
