Yellow Rectangular Vase for ID
« on: November 02, 2011, 03:01:54 PM »
I wonder if anyone recognises this vase or can point me in the right direction? I have no idea if it is modern Chinese or something older. (I love it whatever its parentage).  It looks mould blown with a flat, unmarked satin base that hasn't got much by way of wear marks exactly but looks older than/different from the depressing Chinese stuff I've bought in my ignorance in the past.

The sides have a kind of circular pattern on the lower half, and the colour becomes more pronounced towards the top, looking like vaseline glass around its rim.  The first photo over-emphasises the colour but gives a good idea of the shape and colour changes.

It is almost 18 cm high x13.5 cm square in diameter (7" x 5.25").  I'm not sure of its weight but it's over 2kg.
Many thanks, Iain
Iain

A gentle bump for this post, that seemed to sink without trace last week.
