Topic: Internally ribbed cased lime green vase - ID help please...

Hi guys,

Found this vase at a car boot recently, sold to me by a del boy type who I generally steer clear of due to a number of other pieces of his having very obviously-forged signatures on but thought this one was worth picking up based on its quality of construction: its just under 10'' tall and just over 3'' in diameter - it weighs 775 grams. It has evenly spaced internal 'ribs' each of which cause an increase in thickness of approx 3mm - this has a lovely optic effect which is more apparent in reality than in my pics. It has quite severe scratch wear on the basal rim which could either indicate good age or that the seller has defaced it to make it look more 'mid-century' Anyone have any ideas on designer or maker please?

This is a bit of a generalisation, but this isn't a colour I associate with glass that has any great age.

I've seen this sort of internal ribs in 60s-70s German, Czech and Scandi glass, but like Max said, never in that colour. Somewhere in the far east would be my guess - they really seem to love these sort of colours there. And technique isn't always a pointer to origin - I'm sure glassmakers in that region are quite skilled nowadays, even if original design isn't always valued highly there.
