TALL BLUE YELLOW STRIPED BLOWN GLASS VASE
« on: June 13, 2011, 06:14:30 PM »
Hello to all.  I found this vase and was wondering if anyone might have some ideas where it might have been made.  I'm curious about the treatment or production of it.  The colored stripes are kind of ribbed and over clear glass.  The glass is rather thick, especially around the mouth.  The base has been polished smooth and left with the pontil mark in the center. It measures 17" inches tall.

Has anyone come across Murano pieces that look like this?

It is made by picking up the glass rods from the marver, not the easiest technique. No idea on origin though.

Thanks Frank!  Though, I don't know the terminology.  Can you point me in the direction of any examples of this technique?  I'd really appreciate it.
