Depends how you define early.... Judging by the script, post 1972 and probably into the 80s. As far as I know they were not made before 1972. Very nice and quite complicated bowls/ashtrays really. They always make me think of waves crashing onto the beach.

Thanks John for taking the time to reply, earlyish then and not made yesterday, personally I thought with the 'crizzle' it was an interesting piece?

Hmm.  Not so keen on that one and I would not hesitate to use it myself.  It's the pen holder that spoils it for me.  Here's one I never use except as a tealight holder (just an excuse to show this lovely thing off really!).
