I love this  ;D,yes, i know i have simple pleasures  ;D
I think this could be English & quite old ?
Measure's approx 4 1/2 inc high,4 1/2 inc in diameter across top,foot is 3 inc in diameter.
Its a very simple style (to me it seems stylish :ooh:) & quite solid, has acouple of air bubbles & press marks (sorry i have forgotten the name atm  :spls:)
Any help would be great,
cheers kat

Sorry about photo quality,i'm trying to get better, really,i am   ;D

Comparing to the set of images I have of Molineaux Webb pieces 1830-1870 I would say this most closely resembles a sweetmeat circa 1840, +- a few years. That said, other interpretations are possible as the design doesn't look close to any of my images, just the general styling of a funnel base and wavy top. Would be interested myself to hear any other views on this one...

Oh thank-you for your reply ;D  :kissy: :hiclp:
You've made me very happy because the time frame you mention was something i thought as well.
The maker or such is not something i could work out by myself at all.
To me it  felt/looked old & prayed i was not wayoff.

I did not want to add an age & i know very little but you have made my day.
Would it be too much to ask for a photo off your piece,PLEASE if its not too much trouble :X:

cheers heaps kat

I can't show the most relevant images on here due to copyright but I'll email you instead. See what you think!

As I say I'm going off the fact you say it is quite solid (early pressed glass can be heavy) and the general style of the object but I could be wrong on the dating so if anyone else wants a go...

Kat

Are you using the term flint in the American sense i.e. this is lead glass which rings like a bell when tapped?  Or that it is colourless?

Is there 150 years of wear on the base?

Sid
