Nice piece Roy, I must have overlooked that one

Interesting to see that the original shape submitted to the Board of Trade was for a 'Comport or Elevated Dish' - M. & W. appear to have been very keen on this shape around that time - something that was popular with pressed glass manufacturers in the second half of the C19. As you can see from the other picture I've attached, this factory submitted another similar shape/design only a matter of days after - Rd. 216348 on 31st January 1868.
Not entirely sure what would have been put on these things............cakes, fruit, sandwiches....?
