Chalet Blue Glass
« on: January 24, 2012, 05:50:32 AM »
As a newcomer to the glass world  I would love some help identifying this gorgeous blue and clear free form glass bowl or ashtray that I purchased some time ago.  I think it is a cigar ashtray but I am not sure.  It is not marked at all. It resembles Chalet glass but I could not find any other piece like it online, so I am not sure.  Any ideas?   :help: I have attached some pictures, hopefully they help!  Thank you!

Hi there,

Your piece is definitely by Chalet Artistic Canada. It is an ashtray. Production run piece. Chalet used hang tags and labels as well as their etched signature so often pieces lack markings.

If you are interested in learning more about Chalet and other Italian Canadian glasshouses of this era (1960's to mid 1970's) see www.chaletvintageartglass.com
