Bought these together the larger green one appears to have a more 'hammered' finish the smaller blue smoother, a friend on another site suggested Heron Glass?

Hello Chris,your friends right,got one somewhere pretty much the same colour with a heron glass sticker

Thanks Keith, would that be the large green one or the smaller blue? they are both quite different in the style of surface finish but the bases look similar.

They are both made with the same technique.  The difference is just in how long the frit and powder on the surface was melted into the piece.

Anne, getting dizzy following this thread you moved it from general glass to British then to paperweights?
Yes they are glass, are we then saying then they are by a British maker?  the initial suggesting was Heron Glass.
Sach you say they are both made by the same technique but do you think they were made by the same hand?
So many questions and so little time eBay is calling

Seems likely that they come from the same source but it's not proof.
